Cookies and Browser Storage

Understand the difference between a cookie, a local preference and the temporary text you prepare in the drafting tool.

Notice date: 1 January 2026. This page concerns mediamunchshowsign.casa. See the privacy notice for the broader explanation of browsing and correspondence.

Cookies and local storage are different

A cookie is a small item of data that a website can ask a browser to retain and return with relevant requests. Local storage is data kept in the browser for a particular website; it is not automatically attached to each request in the way a cookie can be.

Both can be used for technical preferences. Local storage normally remains until cleared by the user, browser settings or site code. Private browsing and restrictive settings can make storage unavailable or temporary.

What the supplied site code uses

The editorial pages and drafting tool do not set advertising or analytics cookies. There are no tracking scripts or third-party embedded players. The mobile menu and scroll effects operate without persistent storage.

The contact tool holds its input and output in the current page’s memory. It does not save message text, names or email addresses in cookies or local storage. Downloads and clipboard contents are separate device features and are not removed by clearing a site preference.

A site preference, if present, can use the local storage key mediamunchshowsign-consent. The control below removes only that key. It does not disable essential page delivery or inspect other sites’ storage.

Clear a stored site preference

Use this if you want to remove the locally stored preference. If no preference exists, there is nothing to clear.

This action affects only this website’s named local preference.

Browser and hosting controls

You can inspect or remove cookies and site data through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking storage may prevent a preference from being remembered. This page does not describe or control cookies that may be set independently by hosting or security infrastructure.

If your browser restores form values after leaving a page, that behaviour is controlled by the browser. Use its history, autofill and site-data controls as appropriate, especially on a shared device.

Other websites

Opening a broadcaster or programme reference takes you to a separate website. That site may use cookies, local storage, account identifiers or analytics under its own notice. Clearing storage here does not clear data for those external services.
